Description: Fathers & those who help them will benefit from the 4th Annual Fatherhood Conference, “What Works!” hosted by 2NOT1 Fatherhood & Families, Inc. The conference will be held October 14th, 8am to 4pm at JCTC, located at 109 W. Broadway, Hartford Building. This year’s theme is “What Works – Strengthen Families through Responsible Fatherhood!” The conference will highlight different aspects of fatherhood with both national and local efforts.
The conference will address issues critical to responsible fatherhood: education, housing, perception, and parents understanding the importance of working together. This year’s conference will also provide information about 2NOT1’s TFU (Teen Fatherhood University), program for males and fathers 24 and under.
We will wrap up the conference with the 2NOT1 4th Annual Responsible Fatherhood Awards Recognition, for which nominations are still accepted. Categories include (Deadline for nominations, October 1, 2011):
1) Young Fathers/ Teenage Fathers (24 and under)
2) Community Father does not have to be the biological father; this is open to any positive male role model)
3) Female support for fatherhood issues (a woman who has demonstrated the capacity to support fatherhood efforts)
4) The “Father friendly” Organization
5) The Father of the Year!
The registration cost ($40) includes attendance, continental breakfast, lunch, conference session materials and the Fatherhood Awards Recognition.
Everyone is invited to attend from childhood practitioners and single mothers to fathers and fatherhood practitioners.
